Border Control Post
Hopgrove were approached by The Bristol Port Company to assist with the feasibility and cost planning for a new Border Control Post at Royal Portbury Dock. This involved the integration of several Government agencies, Border Force, DEFRA, APHA and Port Health into one purpose built facility to enable the inspection of incoming cargo. The building contains large inspection and storage areas including walk-in freezers and cold rooms for the temporary storage of goods.
Following successful Cabinet Office approval, Hopgrove were appointed to carry out the construction of the building on a Design and Build basis. The timescales required an immediate start with completion of an operational building some 21 weeks later.
